How far does the head project from the base?
The supplier doesn't give a projection measurement. Judged from the supplier's photos it is a true sculpted dome, not shallow relief, but we can't put a number on it.
Is a lion bolo acceptable at black tie?
No — at true black tie a bolo of any kind replaces the bow tie only if the invitation says western formal. Short of that, this piece belongs at concerts, parties, and dinners, not weddings with a dress code.
